Free Medical Camp
RC Quetta Cosmopolitan plans to hold a free medical camp in suburbs of Quetta for poor and deserving communities. It is expected to be atended by leading doctors of the town. Rtn. Dr. Haneef Khilji is coordinating the efforts.

Rotary District Confeence 2002 - Karachi
The Rotary 3270 District conference was held from April 19 - 21, 2002 at Pearl-Continental Hotel, Karachi. Nine members (President Rtn. Rehman Khan, Rtn. Aurangzeb Mir, Rtn. & Chairman InnerWheel Mrs. Farkhanda, M. Aslam Khan, Rtn. Saleem Raza, Rtn. Dr. Hanif Khilji, Rtn. Basheer Seja, Rtn. Dr. Aaliya Rehman )participated in the conference. It was a good exposure and experience sharing visit for all the members.

Polio NID Round II
As a frontline club of Quetta city, loking into Rotary's priority and interest in Polio Plus campaign, R. C. Quetta Cosmopolitan, has selected a specific area around Quetta city for better coverage. The selection of the area has been done in consultation with Health ministry, UNICEF and WHO local offices. The club has been working through its volunteers in selected areas of Satelline Town, Khilji Abad and Eastern Bypass for the last few years. During the recent round of NID (April 16-18, 2002) more than 28,000 children under the age of 5 years have been vaccinated.

Inter-College / Univ. Debate Competition
A debate competition on issues of youth guidance and responsibilities was held among the uiversity & college students in collaboration with Serena Environmental Society at Hotel Serena Quetta. the topic under discussion was " Youth needs money, not Guidance". Around 22 students participated in the event and spoke far and against the topic. Mr. Roshan K. Barucha (Provincial Minister) was the guest of honour. Rtn. President Rehman Khan welcomed the participants and explained the Rotary, Quetta Cosmo. Club and its functions, especially in serving Quetta. Prizes and gifts were distributed among students at the end of the function. The activity was well-covered by the print and electronic media.

Kick Polio From Quetta
A friendly Football (Soccer) match was organized by RC Quetta Cosmopolitan in collaboration with the WHO on Satellite town Quetta Football ground to raise awareness against Polio in the town pror to the forth-coming NIDs (April 16-18). Match was played between two well known local clubs, named, Milli Afghan and Young Baloch. Milli Afghan club won the match with 2-0. Provincial Minister Social Welfare & Sports, Ms. Roshan K. Bharucha distributed prizes among the winning and runner up team players. She appreciated RC Cosmopolitan's efforts for Polio Plus campaigns.

Mother & Child Health (MCH) Centers
Rotary Club, Quetta Cosmopolitan, and the Inner Wheel Club Quetta, run two MCH centers at Killi Kotwal and Killi Khilji Abad in the suburbs of Quetta for very poor and un-privilged coomunities since January 01, 2002. A female doctor, a mid-wife and a support staff are working at each center. The centers are sufficiently equipped with necessary medicines and instruments. Each center is daily visited by around 30-40 patients as OPD.
